An enthusiastic group attended Dendrochronicle’s recent ‘Exploring Woodland Heritage’ workshop at Grantown-on-Spey, run by Peter Quelch & Coralie Mills for the Community Woodlands Association, and hosted by the Anagach Woods Trust. A mix of talks, case study work and field visits proved a popular combination, and Anagach, an early native pine plantation, was a really good site to try out some archaeological recording (of an old sawmill site) and tree-coring (of early planted pine). We look forward to meeting more CWA members at the introductory Woodland Heritage workshop we are giving at their conference in Boat of Garten on 12th Nov 2011.
