SUMMARY CV
Peter Quelch studied Forestry at Aberdeen University followed by a long career as a Forestry Commission forester, mostly in Scotland, and as their Scottish native woodlands advisor. Since retirement from FCS, Peter has worked as a freelance consultant including as a historic woodland studies specialist, with particular interests in wood pastures and other traditional woodland management systems and their associated archaeology and biodiversity. He is a specialist in the interpretation of woodland history through a combination of field observations and historic mapping.
Peter also runs his own sawmilling operation in Argyll and has longstanding interests in green woodworking and other traditional crafts. Peter often collaborates on Dendrochronicle wooded landscape projects.
